IN-VITRO SCREENING OF SOME MEDICINAL PLANTS ON BREAST, OVARY AND COLON CANCER CELL LINES.
In the present study, the aqueous extracts of lessThan i greaterThan Curcum caesia lessThan /i greaterThan , lessThan i greaterThan Curcuma longa lessThan /i greaterThan , lessThan i greaterThan Curcuma zedoaria lessThan /i greaterThan and lessThan i greaterThan Gloriosa superba lessThan /i greaterThan was studied for their lessThan i greaterThan in vitro lessThan /i greaterThan cytotoxic activity against human breast cancer (MCF-7), colon cancer (HCT-116) and ovarian cancer (PA-1) cell lines using sulphorhodamine B (SRB) assay. The results showed that aqueous extract of lessThan i greaterThan Curcuma zedoaria lessThan /i greaterThan and lessThan i greaterThan Gloriosa superba lessThan /i greaterThan exhibited the prominent inhibitory effect whereas lessThan i greaterThan Curcuma longa lessThan /i greaterThan and lessThan i greaterThan Curcuma caesia lessThan /i greaterThan have moderate to weak effects in lessThan i greaterThan in vitro lessThan /i greaterThan conditions as compared with standard drug 5-fluorouracil.
