Gc-Ms Analysis Of Phytochemical Constituents In Ethanolic Extract Of Punica Granatum Peel And Vitis Vinifera Seeds
Plants have been an important source of medicine with high antioxidant activity for thousands of years. lessThan i greaterThan Vitis vinifera lessThan /i greaterThan and lessThan i greaterThan Punica granatum lessThan /i greaterThan are medicinally important plants belonging to the family lessThan i greaterThan Vitaceae lessThan /i greaterThan and lessThan i greaterThan Lythraceae lessThan /i greaterThan respectively. The peels of lessThan i greaterThan Punica granatum lessThan /i greaterThan is a powerful astringent and cure for diarrhea, and also for stomatitis it can be drunk, used as a mouthwash, douche or enema. The lessThan i greaterThan Vitis vinifera lessThan /i greaterThan seeds possess antioxidative, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial activities, as well as having cardio protective, hepatoprotective, and neuroprotective effects. In the present study the ethanolic extract of lessThan i greaterThan Punica granatum lessThan /i greaterThan peel, lessThan i greaterThan V.vinifera lessThan /i greaterThan seeds were subjected to GC-MS analysis. Twenty six and sixteen compounds were identified in lessThan i greaterThan Punica granatum peel lessThan /i greaterThan and lessThan i greaterThan Vitis vinifera lessThan /i greaterThan seeds. The major chemical constituents in lessThan i greaterThan Punica granatum peel lessThan /i greaterThan were Glycerin, Hydroxymethylfurfurole, Guanosine and Pyrogallol. Constituents mainly present in lessThan i greaterThan Vitis vinifera lessThan /i greaterThan seed were Linoleic acid, Palmitic acid, gamma-Sitosterol and Glycerin.
