<title>In Vitro Studies On Antibacterial Activity Of Physcomitrium Japonicum Hedw. (Funariaceae) </title>
<abstract>The antibacterial activity of moss  lessThan i greaterThan Physcomitrium japonicum lessThan /i greaterThan  (Hedw.) was studied against the various bacteria namely  lessThan i greaterThan Bacillus subtilis lessThan /i greaterThan  (MTCC-441) ,  lessThan i greaterThan Escherichia coli  lessThan /i greaterThan (MTCC-41) lessThan i greaterThan  , lessThan /i greaterThan   lessThan i greaterThan Staphylococcus aureus  lessThan /i greaterThan (MTCC-740) lessThan i greaterThan , Pseudomonas aeruginosa  lessThan /i greaterThan (MTCC-424) and  lessThan i greaterThan Agrobacterium tumefaciens  lessThan /i greaterThan (MTCC-2250) by agar well diffusion technique. The extracts of aqueous and organic solvents were tested against the all bacterial culture. All the extracts showed antibacterial activity against all tested microorganism. The results suggest the potential of  lessThan i greaterThan P. japonicum lessThan /i greaterThan  for developing a broad spectrum antibacterial formulation in future.</abstract>
