<title>Antibacterial Efficiency In The Hemolymph Of Black Ant, <i>Camponotus Compressus</i> </title>
<abstract>The hemolymph of  lessThan i greaterThan Camponotus compressus lessThan /i greaterThan  was screened for antibacterial activity against clinically important bacterial species ( lessThan i greaterThan Kleibsiella pneumonia  lessThan /i greaterThan MTCC 109 lessThan i greaterThan , Vibrio cholera  lessThan /i greaterThan ATCC 14035 lessThan i greaterThan , Micrococcus luteus  lessThan /i greaterThan ATCC 4698 and  lessThan i greaterThan Staphylococcus aureus  lessThan /i greaterThan MTCC 96) using agar well diffusion method. The  lessThan i greaterThan C. compressus lessThan /i greaterThan  hemolymph showed strong activity against the susceptible strains  lessThan i greaterThan S. aureus  lessThan /i greaterThan MTCC 96 and  lessThan i greaterThan K. pneumonia  lessThan /i greaterThan MTCC 109. The hemolymph exhibited considerable inhibitory effects against all the pathogenic organisms under test while their major components demonstrated various degrees of growth inhibition. Literature survey of  lessThan i greaterThan Camponotus compressus lessThan /i greaterThan  revealed that no researcher has yet reported anti bacterial activities of  lessThan i greaterThan C. compressus lessThan /i greaterThan . Therefore, it is worth conducting an investigation on the anti bacterial activity of an ant species,  lessThan i greaterThan C lessThan /i greaterThan .  lessThan i greaterThan compressus.  lessThan /i greaterThan </abstract>
