DIVERSITY OF THE ENDOPHYTIC FUNGI ISOLATED FROM SPILANTHES ACMELLA LINN. - A PROMISING MEDICINAL PLANT
A total of 300 segments from 18 plants of lessThan i greaterThan Spilanthes acmella lessThan /i greaterThan Linn., were collected from Karnatak University Botanical Garden Dharwad. And they were screened for the presence of endophytic fungi. Altogether 8 fungal species; viz lessThan i greaterThan Aspergillus flavipes lessThan /i greaterThan Bainer & Sart lessThan i greaterThan ory lessThan /i greaterThan , lessThan i greaterThan Aspergillus niger lessThan /i greaterThan Tiegh., lessThan i greaterThan Aureobasidium pullulans lessThan /i greaterThan (De Bary.) Arnaud. & Les, lessThan i greaterThan Bipolaris nodulosa lessThan /i greaterThan (Bert and Curt. ex. Sacc.) Shoemaker., lessThan i greaterThan Cladosporium epiphyllum lessThan /i greaterThan Person., lessThan i greaterThan Colletrichum Cord. lessThan /i greaterThan , lessThan i greaterThan Hymenula affinis lessThan /i greaterThan (Fautrey and Lambotte)., lessThan i greaterThan Rhizopus nodusus lessThan /i greaterThan Namyslowski. they were lessThan i greaterThan lessThan /i greaterThan isolated and identified based on the morphology of the spores. The main isolation of endophytes, scanned out their diversity in the host. The results revealed the growth of endophytes on media PDA media MEA medium, colonization frequency of endophytic fungi significantly highest in leaves and greater activity in host leaves have been documented.
