<title>A STUDY ON THE ANTIBACTERIAL EFFECTS OF THE VARIOUS EXTRACTS OF EXCOECARIA AGALLOCHA L. </title>
<abstract>The antibacterial activity of the root, stem and leaf extracts of  lessThan i greaterThan Excoecaria agallocha  lessThan /i greaterThan L. was tested against the test organisms Bacillus subtilis lessThan i greaterThan ,  lessThan /i greaterThan Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae lessThan i greaterThan , lessThan /i greaterThan  Salmonella spp., Shigella sonnei and Staphylococcus aureus lessThan i greaterThan .  lessThan /i greaterThan  The activity was tested both by agar well diffusion and disc diffusion methods. It was found that the extracts were very effective in controlling the growth of all the organisms tested. </abstract>
