<title>ANTIMICROBIAL, ANTIFUNGAL AND ANTIDIABETIC PROPERTIES OF CLERODENDRUM INFORTUNATUM </title>

The antimicrobial activity of  lessThan i greaterThan C.infortunatum  lessThan /i greaterThan was performed by disc diffusion method in which the ethanol extract was exhibited significant antibacterial activity against  lessThan i greaterThan Bacillus subtillis  lessThan /i greaterThan (12.00mm),  lessThan i greaterThan Aeromonas hydrophila lessThan /i greaterThan  (4.67 mm),  lessThan i greaterThan Shigella boydii lessThan /i greaterThan  (10.67 mm),  lessThan i greaterThan Escherichia coli lessThan /i greaterThan  (8.00 mm) and  lessThan i greaterThan Staphylococcus lessThan /i greaterThan  lessThan i greaterThan .aureus lessThan /i greaterThan  (10.00 mm), and antifungal activity against  lessThan i greaterThan Trichophyton mentagrophytes lessThan /i greaterThan  (9.00mm),  lessThan i greaterThan Fusarium oxysporum lessThan /i greaterThan  (13.00mm),  lessThan i greaterThan Penicillium chrysogenum lessThan /i greaterThan  (11.34mm),  lessThan i greaterThan Aspergillus niger lessThan /i greaterThan  (14.67mm) and  lessThan i greaterThan Aspergillus flavus lessThan /i greaterThan  (7.34mm). The qualitative analysis of photochemical showed the presence phenolics, alkaloids, flavonoid, saponin, tannin and anthraquinone on both ethanolic and chloroform extracts. Furthermore, to evaluate α-amylase and α-glucosidase inhibitory effect of  lessThan i greaterThan C. infortunatum  lessThan /i greaterThan extracts, the extracts were subjected to  lessThan i greaterThan in-vitro lessThan /i greaterThan  inhibition studies with the enzymes α-amylase and α-glucosidase. The ethanolic extract of  lessThan i greaterThan C.infortunatum  lessThan /i greaterThan showed high inhibition in both α-amylase (17.25%) and α-glucosidase activities. The results provided a platform for the use of  lessThan i greaterThan C. infortunatum  lessThan /i greaterThan for therapeutics.</abstract>
