<title>ALLELOPATHIC EFFECTS OF AQUEOUS EXTRACT OF LEAVES OF ABUTILON INDICUM (L.) SWEET AND PARTHENIUM HYSTEROPHORUS L. ON SEED GERMINATION AND SEEDLING GROWTH OF BARLEY </title>
Allelopathic effect of 3% aqueous extracts of fresh leaves of lessThan i greaterThan Abutilon indicum lessThan /i greaterThan (L.) Sweet and lessThan i greaterThan Parthenium hysterophorus lessThan /i greaterThan L. were studied on seed germination and seedling growth of barley ( lessThan i greaterThan Hordeum vulgare lessThan /i greaterThan L. local var. RD 2035). Seeds were allowed to grow in petri-dishes contains 3% leaf extracts of lessThan i greaterThan A. indicum lessThan /i greaterThan and lessThan i greaterThan P. hysterophorus. lessThan /i greaterThan The result indicated that seedling growth was promoted by lessThan i greaterThan A. indicum lessThan /i greaterThan while suppressed by lessThan i greaterThan P. hysterophorus lessThan /i greaterThan . Seed germination was not affected by lessThan i greaterThan A. indicum lessThan /i greaterThan whereas inhibited by lessThan i greaterThan P. hysterophorus lessThan /i greaterThan .
