<title>INVITRO ANTIBACTERIAL ACTIVITY OF ENDOPHYTIC FUNGAL EXTRACTS ISOLATED FROM A PHARMACEUTICALLY IMPORTANT PLANT FICUS RELIGIOSA L. </title>
lessThan i greaterThan Ficus religiosa L lessThan /i greaterThan is one of the important medicinal plant widely used in pharmaceutical research. It is widely distributed in India and a religiously important host. In the present study, antibacterial activity of endophytic fungi isolated from lessThan i greaterThan Ficus religiosa lessThan /i greaterThan was carried out. Organic extract of five dominant endophytic fungi viz lessThan i greaterThan Botryodiplodia theobromae, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides, Phomopsis lessThan /i greaterThan sp lessThan i greaterThan , Curvuleria lunata, Drechslera lessThan /i greaterThan lessThan i greaterThan hawaiiensis lessThan /i greaterThan were tested against important gram positive and gram negative bacteria. The lessThan i greaterThan C.lunata lessThan /i greaterThan extract showed maximum activity against tested organisms followed by lessThan i greaterThan Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. lessThan /i greaterThan However, lessThan i greaterThan Botryodiplodia theobromae lessThan /i greaterThan does not inhibit any of the test organisms.
